Munduk Cabins is six modern timber cabins on a ridge in Bali's northern highlands, around two hours from Ubud and a world away from the island's beach traffic. The Premium Suite Cabin is a one-bedroom unit with a semi-open living room, a real kitchenette, and a balcony hanging over jungle that runs all the way to the sea on clear days. Shared between guests: an infinity pool, a hot tub and a fire pit for the cool evenings — and they are genuinely cool up here, so pack a jumper. Munduk is waterfall country; four big falls sit on one walking loop, and coffee plantations and the twin lakes at Bedugul are short drives away. Staff can organise a private chef, and the kitchenette comes stocked with snacks and wine. It is the polished, comfortable counterpoint to Bali's rougher bamboo stays — better for people who want jungle views with hot water and good bedding.
