The most famous treehouse stay in Puerto Rico, and it earns it. This tiny two-story house in the El Yunque foothills is built around a living orange-mango tree that grows straight through the structure, on a property of about 24 acres of rainforest an hour east of San Juan. It's a tight, clever space: full bed up a ladder in the loft, skylights everywhere, air conditioning, WiFi, and a mini-fridge the host Julio keeps stocked with drinks and snacks. The honest caveats — the loft is low (taller guests will be stooping), the shower is single-occupancy small, and there's a friendly dog on the property. None of it stops the place from booking out months in advance, so reserve early. You're minutes from El Yunque's waterfall trails and about twenty from Luquillo Beach, which makes rainforest mornings and beach afternoons the default itinerary.
